Resident Evil 7's Free DLC Is Delayed

Capcom has announced that it is delaying the planned spring release of Resident Evil 7's Not a Hero DLC.

Producer Masachika Kawata, executive producer Jun Takeuchi, and director Koshi Nakanishi offered a personal apology and explanation for the delay (check out the video below), saying that the DLC "was not good enough" to match the quality of the game itself.

Capcom has not provided a new release timeframe for the DLC, but did assure fans that it is still free.

The team is also working on a further piece of DLC, but it did not specify if it will be free or not, nor when it may come out.

Our Take
Given that the DLC is story based and includes Chris Redfield, the team's insistence that it's presently not up to the level of the base game is important. If rushing it out would have meant the DLC wasn't on par with the rest of the game, then we certainly agree with the delay.
