2D RPG Salt And Sanctuary Coming Soon To PS Vita

One year after its launch on PS4, the dark and challenging action game Salt and Sanctuary is coming to PS Vita. The title will be available for Vita starting on March 28, and because it features cross-buy, any current owners of the PS4 version will be able to download it on their Vita for free.

The port was developed by Sickhead Games, who previously brought Darkest Dungeon, Axiom Verge, and Towerfall Ascension to the Vita as well. James Silva, one half of the husband and wife team behind original developers Ska Studios, said in a PlayStation blog post that the couple had initially planned to release the game on PS4 and PS Vita simultaneously, but believes Sickhead's version will be worth the wait.

Check out our review of Salt and Sanctuary, which was picked as one of our top ten underappreciated games of this console generation.

Our Take
Salt and Sanctuary should be a good fit for the Vita, joining its ever-growing list of engaging RPGs. I'm curious to see how co-op works on the handheld, though, considering the differences between local co-op functionality on PS4 and Vita.
