For those looking forward to the upcoming Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, we have some good news and some bad news.
On the plus side, Koji Igarashi's spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is coming to Nintendo Switch. This is good news for owners of Nintendo's handheld/console hybrid, which is selling strongly out of the gate. The downside is that the previously promised Wii U version is being canceled. Essentially, development of the Wii U version is being skipped in favor of the Switch.
Kickstarter backers who chose the Wii U as their platform of choice now have the option to change to any of the other versions or even request an outright refund.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is scheduled to release in 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, Vita, and PC.

Our Take:
It always sucks to see a game get canceled, but it's hard to be surprised at the fate of the Wii U version of Bloodstained. Publisher 505 Games is making the correct business decision, shifting its resources to the newer, hotter console and away from the Wii U, which is pretty much dead in the water at this point.
