New Star Wars Battlefront, Need For Speed & More Playable At EA Play

What games will or won't be at the E3 expo is an annual game-within-a-game itself, but Electronic Arts has gotten a little ahead of the guessing by announcing some of the titles that the company is featuring at its EA Play event being held June 10-12 before the E3 convention official opens June 13.

The new iterations of Star Wars Battlefront (2015's title is shown) and Need for Speed will be there, as will the latest slate of EA Sports titles – including the oft-delayed NBA Live 18. All of these games and more will be playable.

Both EA Play and E3 are open to the public. Tickets to EA Play go on sale on April 20, with more details coming later.

Our Take
Although Star Wars Battlefront is a multiplayer-focused title, EA has already said that this year's sequel features single-player campaign. It'll be interesting to see if the demo at EA Play features multiplayer, single-player, or even both.

Other EA titles already announced for the fiscal year but not specifically mentioned in today's announcement such as the next UFC and NHL 18 could also be playable at the event since EA says there will be titles beyond those currently listed. As for the other EA Star Wars titles coming in the future, I think they'll be updates on their progress at E3, but the focus will be squarely on the next Star Wars Battlefront.
