Persona 5 released in North America and Europe this week, and apparently the launch has been a success. Today, Atlus announced that the RPG has shipped over 1.5 million copies worldwide.

Our Take
The 1.5 million number is certainly impressive, but remember that "units shipped" is different from "units sold," and the fact that these are worldwide numbers means that they include the sales in Japan since its release there last fall. Even with those qualifications, I'm still happy to see that plenty of people are enjoying Persona 5 and that the series is getting so much attention.
