What To Watch This Weekend: Dota 2, The EGX Conference, And Gears Of War 4

The good thing about April Fools' Day is that at least to eSports are real. From major Dota 2 and Gears of War tournaments to smaller Street Fighter tournaments and developer conference, every event you'll find below is actually happening. What a surprise!

Though it's likely to take place in odd hours for American viewers (it's taking place in China), the Dota 2 Asia Championships promise some incredible matches, upsets, and well, probably lots of Monkey King and Troll Warlord. (Stream / Schedule)

The Gears of War scene is having a marquee event this weekend in the Atlantic City Open, where anyone with a team can walk in and attempt to snag the part of the event's $200,000 prize pool. (Stream / Schedule)

As the League of Legends Spring Splits begin wrapping up around the world, the much shorter Summer Promotion tournament, the winner of which will represent North American at this month's Mid-Season Invitational, begins and ends this weekend. (Stream / Schedule) Of course, you can also watch the European Split! (Stream / Schedule)

The Rocket League Championship Series' third season continues, as top teams like Denial eSports, NRG, and more continue fighting for prime placement going into the playoffs. (Stream / Schedule)

The Street Fighter V Capcom Pro Tour ranking event for the week is the Sonic Boom Tournament in Madrid, Spain. Watch as a veteran players like Justin Wong and Ricki Ortiz, and more take on local talent for those sweet, sweet ranking points. (Stream / Schedule)

If you're looking for something a bit more subdued, you can watch developers talk about their games at this year's EGX event. (Stream and Schedule)

That's it for this weekend! Let us know in the comments below if we missed anything, or if there's a scene you'd like us to cover.
