2005's Star Wars Battlefront II Is Relaunching Its Multiplayer Today

Disney and GOG have teamed up to get Star Wars Battlefront II's multiplayer running again, releasing today on both the GOG and Steam versions.

The original Star Wars Battlefront II, released in 2005 by Pandemic on PS2, Xbox, PSP, and PC, was a follow-up to the previous year's Battlefront game. However, it lost its ability to go online for multiplayer in 2014 when Gamespy shuttered its services, bringing down a lot of mid-2000s online games in the process.

Fans of the game have kept it alive through third-party tools over the last few years, but the new GOG changes are an official extension of its multiplayer life. Fans of the game, or people who just want to get themselves jazzed for the other Star Wars Battlefront II coming out this year, can play the multiplayer starting today on GOG and Steam.
