GT Sport comes out on October 17, but before it does, developer Polyphony Digital is offering fans one last chance to try the game for free via a demo.
The demo goes live on October 9 at 6:00 PM PT, but if you're a PS Plus member, you can start pre-loading it on October 7 8:00 AM PT and start playing on October 9 12:00 AM PT. The demo ends on October 12 8:00 AM PT, but your progress during the demo carries over to the full game.
The demo contains slices of the Sport, Campaign, and Arcade (including split-screen multiplayer) modes, as well as the Scrapes photo feature and the livery editor.

Our Take
I like how Polyphony did both a beta and a demo – as well as the fact that your progress carries over. I imagine the reason we don't see the latter more often is it necessitates that the game be more or less finished. Even though it's relatively close to the release date, this kind of demo is a good last-minute marketing push that concretely benefits fans as well.
