A Hat in Time, a 3D platformer that is designed to hearken back to the Gamecube era of the genre, is releasing on October 5 on PC.
The game was Kickstarted on in 2013 as a response to the lack of traditional 3D platformers on modern systems. Developer Gears for Breakfast was surprised that the game doubled its goal in two days, wondering if the collectathons of the N64 era left people too burned out on 3D platformers for them to make a proper comeback.
A Hat in Time releases on Steam and Humble on October 5 for $29.99, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One following in the fall.
