There seems to be a heavy thirst for battle royale style games, as Epic's Fortnite Battle Royale mode has proven, garnering a million players on the first day.
The game's official twitter account celebrating the number today, which just adds one more point of comparison between Fortnite's new mode and Bluehole's successful Battlegrounds. Of course, a direct comparison in numbers is impossible, as Fortnite's Battle Royale mode is free, while Battlegrounds is still a paid product.
Still, Epic has to be happy about the numbers, as a strong foothold in the genre early on will pay dividends for Fortnite later on. We made a video comparing both Fortnite and Battlegrounds below, so you can check it out if you're trying to decide between the two.
