Unlike the April Fool's sprite designs added to Pokémon Go over the weekend, Latias and Latios' additions are no joke.
Starting today, the legendary dragon- and psychic-type Pokémon will appear in different continents around the world and can be captured via raid battles until June 5. Latias will pop up in Europe and Asia, and Latios is coming to North and South America and Africa. On May 8, the two will switch locations for the duration of the event.

Our Take
New Pokémon, especially legendaries, are always an exciting addition to Go, but perhaps the most important part of this news is how Niantic is having shuffling the Pokémon around continents halfway through the event. Hopefully, this is a sign other Pokémon will be made available outside their initial region.
