Blog Herding – The Best Blogs Of The Community (February 23, 2017)

A wide variety of blogs this week give us some great content to read, and I implore you to do that very thing!

Community Blogs For February 16 – February 22:

Japan's Protagonist Problem
Blogger MightyMagikarp is here to write about what he thinks of Nippon's video game heroes. He writes that character tropes are used too often. I mean, how often do we have a hero with amnesia? But then again, Japan has brought us some excellent characters recently. What do you think?

Pokémon Go: Gen 2 Update
John Wrek is here to write about the latest Go update, and what it has done as far as his gaming with the app goes. He writes, "all in all it's a rich experience," though I don't play it very much anymore. I've got my army of Bulbasaurs, so I'm good.

A Growing-Up Gamer
Growing up is tough for gamers, but GerardoExber has a plan. It's a bittersweet blog as he nears college graduation, but it's also a hopeful one about what adventures may await our young blogger.

One Man's Rankings: Top Ten Wii U Games
The Wii U is a solid console, and Attackcobra is here to write about the best games on the oft-derided console. It's a nearly perfect list, but I'd add a couple titles such as Monster Hunter (I mean, Monster Hunter was on consoles again!).

Community Reviews:

Resident Evil 7 Review
The latest horror game from Capcom is much loved by John Wrek. It's a fresh take that the blogger enjoys, although some times while I'm playing I wonder if it could have been another series entirely. As it stands, I really enjoy it and its connections to the other games.

Writing Challenge Responses:

Community Writing Challenge: The Most Helpful Video Game Partners I've Had
Rebekah Lang is back to write about great video game partners that she has played games with online. I myself have had some great gaming partners online that make games much more enjoyable.

Community Writing Challenge: Those Great Gaming Partners
GerardoExber has also written a blog that focuses on real-life partners in video games, rather than the virtual ones. It's a nice theme to see happening with this community challenge.

Writing Challenge:

What was it like the first time you discovered an old classic late? Sometimes you don't have money or time to play a new game, meaning you played Final Fantasy VII 10 years late. What was that like? Was it spoiled? Did it open your gaming library to a whole new genre?

I hope you enjoy the blogs! Please contact me via my Game Informer page or on Twitter at @LouisGarcia12 with any blog news or playdate suggestions.
