We're still a few months away from The Elder Scrolls Online's Morrowind expansion, but it looks like the MMO is doing quite well even without it.
Speaking to MMORPG, ESO game director Matt Firor mentioned the game now has sold 8.5 million copies. This is a 1.5 million bump since E3 of last year, when the game had sold 7 million copies. All three platforms for the game (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC), seem to have taken an even split of the game's current playerbase, according to Firor.
The game has been regularly updated since its release in 2014, with the Homestead update being the latest.

Our Take
Should... should I play this? I wasn't a huge fan of Skyrim, but I loved Oblivion, and I'm wondering if the Morrowind update might be the best time for me to start. I'm a little weary of committing to an MMO right now, though. Hm...
