Development of the Uncharted film seems to be moving along in fits and starts. It's on hold, but not dead. Its script is complete, and writer Joe Carnahan (known for Narc, The A-Team remake, and The Grey) had mentioned in interviews that he's received great feedback on it. Except from series developer Naughty Dog, that is.
A couple of days ago, Naughty Dog writer Neil Druckmann stated in a tweet that "No one at Naughty Dog has read the script" of the film.
No one at Naughty Dog has read the script. No idea what the movie is about let alone its tone. https://t.co/lc64Pevqyk

This was in response to Carnahan saying the film would retain what he saw the game's "foul-mouthed" dialogue. "I definitely didn't write it as a 'PG-13' movie, I wrote it the way that movie should be written," Carnahan said to ComingSoon.net.
Speaking to Collider, Carnahan has also said that "it was important" he get the approval of previous series writer Amy Hennig and Nathan Drake actor Nolan North. However, his statement about whether Naughty Dog left a lot of room for doubt. "What I've heard is the Naughty Dog guys are really happy with it," Carnahan said. "But who knows?" It's important to note this is a transcription of a spoken interview, but this still does not lend the statement a lot of confidence.
Seeing this, Druckmann once again stated Naughty Dog "knows nothing" about the film on Twitter.
A recent quote from the writer of the Uncharted film. We know nothing about the film. Wish he'd stop implying that he has our support. pic.twitter.com/He1AHK53TI

Our Take
Assuming what Druckmann's saying is true, (and we have no reason to believe it's not), it strikes me as strange for Carnahan to say something implying the film has Naughty Dog's support, then immediately follow it up "Who knows?" Maybe it's something he heard from someone else? But if they're not collaborating with the team who made the material they're working off of, it may not bode well for the film capturing what made the games so popular.
