The Super Sonic DLC for Sonic Forces, originally only temporarily free, has been made free permanently.
The DLC was released last month as an add-on to Sonic Forces with a free price tag, which was a good price as the game curiously lacked any Super Sonic transformation, uncommon for a Sonic title. Sega's original intention was to start charging for the ability to turn into Super Sonic this week, but has rather decided to keep it free.
It is unclear why they planned to charge for it, regardless, but it is good that they decided not to in the end.
Sonic Forces is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
Our Take
It was an odd bit of DLC to begin with, but charging for it after a month of it being free would be even stranger. Hopefully they just avoid this whole thing and make sure Super Sonic is in the base game next time.
