Reader Discussion: Will You Play The New Zelda Game, And On Which Console?

For Zelda fans, it’s often a long wait between major installments of the franchise. If you look at only major home console releases (not remakes), the last game in the series was way back in 2011 with Skyward Sword. As such, it’s understandable that many fans are excited that a new The Legend of Zelda game is now only about a month away, with a scheduled launch alongside the Nintendo Switch on March 3. 

If you plan on playing, you’ll be faced with a choice: Buy a new Nintendo Switch and plan for Zelda to be the first game in your new console, or pick up a copy of what might be one of the last great games on the Wii U, but accept the slight downgrade in audio quality and resolution that Nintendo has explained will come with that version.
