The service lets players bring Pokémon caught in the Virtual Console versions of Red, Blue, & Yellow, as well as Pokémon from Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire and X & Y, into Sun & Moon. Using it before October 7 also awards players Mew's Z-Crystal, Mewnium. For more on the service, head here.

Our Take
I recognize this is for the hardest of hardcore Pokémon players, and it is probably difficult to implement, but I am surprised it was not available at launch for Sun & Moon. I suppose having access to your library of more than three years worth of collected Pokémon might have also broken the game, in terms of challenge, so maybe that's why The Pokémon Company has been withholding it.
