Activision has announced the creation of a consumer products division that aims to use Activision's properties and content for everything from movies and television to competitive gaming, mobile, and more.
Former Mattel and Disney executive Tim Kilpin is the division's CEO and president.
Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick said of Kilpin: "Under Tim's leadership, we will elevate our consumer product offerings to the same level of exceptional quality as our games and transform the ways audiences connect with the characters they love in their everyday lives."
The division will also seek retail partnerships and the creation of new products and "consumer experiences."

Our Take
Kilpin's impressive resume at Mattel (overseeing marketing with a background including content development) and Disney (as executive vice president of franchise management) certainly makes it look like they got the right person for the job.
