We knew that Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake weren't releasing anytime soon after Square Enix director Tetsuya Nomura talked about their development in an interview earlier this year. Square Enix's recently released financial results outline confirms that fans still have a long wait ahead of them.
Both titles are found on a slide indicating releases planned for the March 2018 fiscal year "and beyond". An accompanying quote from Square Enix president and representative director Yosuke Matsuda says, "We plan to launch each of these upcoming titles in the next three years or so."

Our Take
Unfortunately, Square Enix fans have had to get used to waiting a long time for games from the Japanese development teams. This news doesn't come as much of a surprise given that the Final Fantasy VII remake team just staffed up and the only recent announcements have been screenshots. In the meantime, I'd recommend checking out the Kingdom Hearts HD Remakes, although they're a little bit complicated. Thankfully, one of our biggest fans in the office wrote up a comprehensive beginner's guide.
